The popular K-POP group BLACKPINK does not have any leader and this is very unusual as the rest of the K-pop group have their leader. The girl band is made up of four members which includes Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, nonetheless, everyone work collaboratively together in the group without depending on a leader to guide. The bews resolving around the BALCKPINK supposed to say that Jennie is the leader of BLACKPINK but all the rumors were cleared by another group member Lisa. Does BLACKPINK have a Leader? BLACKPINK visited a popular South Korean variety show named the Knowing Brothers to do the promotion of their upcoming album BLACKPINK THE ALBUM. Comes under YG Entertainment, the girl group follows a different structure as compare to the other K-pop groups. A group leader in other group lead the group and responsible for addressing problems and issues the group is going through with the agency. The leader also finds solutions on problems causing between the members and sorts out the matters. It’s nearly hard to see a K-pop group who does not have any leader but it can happen too.

When the host of the show asked about it, the BLACKPINK maknae Lisa stated that the group does not have any leader and they all plays equal role and maintain the harmony of the group. She added that everyone in the group is better at something than other so everyone takes care of different activities. Lisa herself is a great dancer, so she takes care of the choreography or performance part of the group. Jisoo is the eldest member of the group hence she makes decisions in hard situations. Rosé is responsible for all the small but crucial details. When Lisa gave explanation on Jennie is the one member who lead when it’s about taking the requests and issues to YG Entertainment, K-pop stans thought that she was the leader of the group. But Lisa had cleared the rumors saying that the group works without a leader.

BLACKPINK made their debut under YG Entertainment in the year 2016 with their first album that was a mini one named Square One. The album was consist of only two songs named Whistle and Boombayah. BLACKPINK gathered attention and became viral when they released the song DDU-DU DDU-DU in 2017. The group has the record of most streamed music channel on YouTube, and many of their music videos has surpassed over 1 billion views. All the members of BLACKPINK i.e, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have released their solo debuts also and the first one to start it was Jennie who released her single solo in 2018 and the latest member who made her solo is Jisoo by releasing the song FLOWER in 2023.
