Giro di Lombardia 2022, Il Lombardia: LIVE Streaming, When and Where to Watch, Schedule

The 116th edition of the Giro di Lombardia is scheduled to be held on October 8, 2022 in Lombardy, Italy. The race starts from Bergamo to Como, which is the complete opposite direction from the race conducted in 2021. The course will be extended by 14 kilometers in 2022, for a total of 253 kilometers and more than 4,800 meters of elevation. The previous iteration (2021) of the race was won by Tadej Pogacar representing  UAE Team Emirates. The Slovenian cyclist will be back in to defend his title in the 2022 edition. Top cyclists like Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic will also be participating in this season. Italy’s Fausto Coppi has won the maximum number of titles in the tournament (5).

The Giro di Lombardia, commonly known as Il Lombardia, is an Italian cycling competition held in the region of Lombardy. It is generally the last of the season’s five “Monuments,” and is regarded as one of the most prestigious one-day races in cycling, and one of the final events on the UCI World Tour calendar. It is referred to as the Classica delle foglie morte, or “the Classic of the Falling or Dead Leaves.”  The Madonna del Ghisallo climb, which occurs in the race’s penultimate lap, is its most illustrious climb. The inaugural tournament took place in 1905. The only editions of the race that were postponed due to war were those in 1943 and 1944, making it the race with the fewest interruptions since it was held for the first time.
