Bhanuka Rajapaksa is a 30-year-old left-hand Sri Lanka batter, who has been going from strength to strength since he made his international debut. Rajapaksa began his cricket career as a student of Royal College Colombo, which has produced loads of cricketers for Sri Lanka in the past. Bhanuka started his career as an all-rounder but gave up on the medium-pace option, later in his career. His domestic career started when he played for one of the oldest and most successful cricket clubs named Sinhalese Sports Club. The left-hand batter’s other sporting interests include squash and swimming.
In 2018, Rajapaksa was picked up by Galle Gladiators in SLC T20 and was one of the team’s top performers. Bhanuka made his T20 debut in 2019 against Pakistan and made his ODI in 2021. Rajapaksa was bagged in by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 50 lakhs in the Indian Premier League 2022 auctions. The Sri Lanka batter was very impressive in the IPL, he single-handedly won a couple of for the Punjab Kings and became a prominent feature of the batting lineup.
