Welsh Fire Women will lock horns with Manchester Original Women at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The Fire’s finished last during the group stages in the previous edition of the unique tournament, earning just a single win against the Northern Superchargers Women. They would like to come over the horrendous phase and start afresh. The Welsh-based franchise will be captained by the in-form Tammy Beaumont. She was in tremendous form during the multi-format Ashes, notching a double ton in the only Test. Sophia Dunkley, Freya Davies, and Alex Hartley are a few of the prominent capped players in the franchise. 

Talk about the overseas signings, West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews, South African pacer (recently retired), Shabnim Ismail, and Australian batter, Laura Harris are some of the renowned names. Welsh suffered a blow after off-break bowler, Georgia Davis was replaced with Gloucestershire off-spinner, Chloe Skelton. On the flip side, Manchester Originals are led by English bowling all-rounder, Sophie Ecclestone. The side failed to make it to the knockout stages in the previous season, ending at the sixth number, after already finishing fifth in the inaugural edition.

Among the national recruits, Emma Lamb is one of the names to be highlighted. Speak about the overseas signings, Laura Wolvaardt, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Kathryn Bryce, and Deandra Dottin are the established names featuring for this side. Manchester is also going to have the services of some youngsters in the form of 17-year-old Mahika Gaur (Thunders) and 24-year-old Katie Louise George (Central Sparks) who have gained the limelight in the Women’s domestic circuit.
