T20 World Cup 2022, India: Squad, Captain, Key Players

The T20 World Cup 2022 will get underway from October 16 with the inaugural fixture between Namibia and Sri Lanka. Australia will host the marquee tournament which will run from October 16 to November 23. The tournament was originally scheduled to get underway in July 2020 but due to the Covid-19 situation it was postponed to 2022.

Hosts Australia are the defending champions for the T20 World Cup 2022 with the heavyweights like India, England, Pakistan and the West Indies set to make the marquee event more competitive. The twelve teams that reached the Super 12 phase of the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup automatically qualified for the 2022 tournament. 

It includes Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa while Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka and the West Indies will compete in the group stage. The 16-team event will see four nations qualify from the top two teams from each of the two Global Qualifiers.

T20 World Cup 2022, India: Squad, Captain, Key Players

BCCI have named a 15-man strong squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have returned to the squad which features Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Rohit Sharma will lead the squad while KL Rahul will be his deputy.
