Sri Lanka will host Pakistan in the first of a two-match Test series at the Galle International Stadium on July 16.
Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for a two-Test series, starting from July 16. The first match will take place at the Galle International Stadium, Galle while the second Test will get underway from July 24 at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The Test series will commence after the three-day warm-up match, starting from July 11.
The Test series will be a part of the second World Test Championship cycle. Babar Azam will lead his troops in the series with veteran spinner Yasir Shah making a comeback to the visiting side. The two sides stand neck and neck in the World Test Championships points table with Sri Lanka at fourth with a point percentage of 55.56 while Pakistan are a spot below with 52.38%.
Pakistan will play a Test match at the Galle International Stadium for the first-time since 2015. The memories of their last visit at the venue will be fresh as they won the contest against Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Their highest total at the venue records at a massive 600 runs and the visitors will look to take inspiration from their past performance in the match.
