The ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia, held at Narendra Modi Stadium, saw an impressive number of attendees. The stadium, which can hold 132,000 people, was completely full. People eagerly watched the exciting match. This game had the most attendees of any ICC final event. The mood was energetic; fans wore blue jerseys and held flags, adding color and energy. Interestingly, this audience was larger than the prior record. This was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the 2015 World Cup final, Australia versus New Zealand. It had over 93,000 people.
The big crowd showed just how much people in India love cricket. The Narendra Modi Stadium was the main event. Families, friends, famous cricket players, important people, and fans from all over were there. This game was a big deal. Around 70,000 fans who had tickets came from various places in India. Many thousands were Indians living in other countries like the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, and Singapore. Tickets were so popular, they were being sold illegally for 30 times the normal price.
The big event needed lots of security. So, over 6,000 police were on duty, including Gujarat police and Rapid Action Force (RAF). Home guards were there in and out of the stadium. They were ready for more than one lakh fans and many important people. Special teams were set for emergencies. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads, Chetak Commandos, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams were near the stadium.
