What a day it has been for Bangladesh. They won the toss, asked India to bat with some tackiness on the pitch, and the spinners quickly wiped out the top three. On this pitch, Ebadot used pace and bounce to join Shakib’s party, and the pair shared 9 wickets.

Now, let’s talk about Shakib. Looking at the scorecard, one would believe the pitch would have helped him. But it wasn’t spinning much, and it was slightly stopping on the batter. One might believe it’s just the slider, but his releases differ for every ball. Some are wide, while others are slingy and low.

He’s also very good with his lines. On occasion, he gets some drift too. The Indian batters had no idea what was going on. Obviously, they were concerned about the arm ball as they struggled to pick him. He got all his wickets from literally bowling on the same lines. Some batters played inside the line of the ball while some played outside the line.

India’s shot selection was poor. Two out to reverse sweep and several soft dismissals. Shreyas tried steady the ship in but was bounced out. Washi had a plan, but he threw it away. KL fought alone, holding one end and then accelerating later to gain respectability. Bangladesh currently has an advantage going into the chase.
