The Kandy-based franchise didn’t have a great start to the tournament losing consecutive matches comprehensively. The lacklustre performance of the batters was the primary cause for the defeats against Colombo Strikers and Galle Titans in matches led by Wanindu Hasaranga. However, the team’s fortunes took a turn for the better when the batting front finally came alive during the match against Dambulla Aura. Notably, Dinesh Chandimal, Fakhar Zaman, Kamindu Mendis, and Angelo Mathews demonstrated their brilliance in successfully chasing down 157 runs, thanks to the impressive performance of Kandy bowlers who restricted the opponents. Despite this victory, B-Love Kandy finds itself at the bottom of the standings, having only secured two points from three matches.

As the name suggests, the Jaffna-based franchise is performing like Kings since the league’s inauguration. Kings are crowned at the pole position with four points from three matches. The Thisara Perera-led side did well to bounce back from their loss to Dambulla Aura in the second fixture after they started off brilliantly with a win against Colombo Strikers. A collective bowling performance from Jaffna Kings led by Dunith Wellalage, who floored down Galle Titans with his magnificent four-for and restricted them to a well below-par total of 117/9. It was a cakewalk for the defending champions as they eased through the run chase in just 12.4 overs with Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashing a fifty and ever-consistent Towhid Hridoy remaining unbeaten on 44.
