Virat Kohli’s side have won both their games against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders began IPL 2021 with a good win against SRH. However, they lost to Mumbai Indians. Eoin Morgan’s team made no changes while Royal Challengers Bangalore made one change.
Dan Christian was left out and Rajat Patidar was included. Royal Challengers Bangalore are playing with only three foreign players in AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson. After the toss, Kohli said that the surface at Chepauk looked much better as compared to the earlier games. On the other hand, this will be Kolkata Knight Riders’ final game in Chennai. After this, they will move to Mumbai for the next two games.
In the last two encounters between the two sides, Royal Challengers Bangalore has dominated. In IPL 2020, in the first game at Sharjah, AB de Villiers blasted a brilliant 73 which included six sixes. Mohammed Siraj bowled two maidens and created history in the second game. Kolkata Knight Riders made only 84/8 as they suffered another big loss.
Overall, Kolkata Knight Riders have a 14-12 head-to-head advantage against Royal Challengers Bangalore but on current form, Kohli’s side are the favorites.
