ICC World Cup 2023: Ahmedabad awaits for a frenzied opening ceremony

The city of Ahmedabad prepares to brace itself for a frenzied environment as India takes on Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023.

The biggest match of the ICC calendar, India vs Pakistan is scheduled to take place tomorrow. This is the most mouth-watering clash that has made the sport of cricket so much popular in the subcontinent. Naturally, this is going to be one of the most awaited games for every cricket fan in the country. The game is even more hyped up as the India versus Pakistan caravan returns to India for the first time in seven years. Moreover, a grand opening is planned to welcome the huge crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Historically, India and Pakistan have been embroiled in many geo-political conflicts. Naturally, their cricket matches also end up attracting huge crowds and audiences. Many cricket pundits have considered that there is no bigger rivalry in cricket than India vs Pakistan. Added to that, both teams are in red-hot form after their initial games. While India has not put any foot wrong, Pakistan will have to answer their top-order dilemma.

Who are the stars performing at the mega event?

India vs Pakistan is a very high-stakes game in any ICC tournament. This draws a lot of attention from people across the globe. Simultaneously, it also brings people from different platforms to enjoy a pulsating game. Naturally, this time too it’s no different, and many top artists from the world of Bollywood will be there to enjoy the game. Moreover, India vs Pakistan will also mark the much-awaited ‘opening ceremony’ of the ICC Cricket World Cup. Subsequently, BCCI announced on October 12 that singers Arijit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sukhwinder Singh will perform during a pre-match show. The opening ceremony of the World Cup is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

Indian film superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth will be present at the event. The event will also be graced by the Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar will attend the event. As per reports, all three of them have already been given the World Cup ‘Golden Ticket’ for this huge clash a few days ago. Along with them, actors Tamannah Bhatia and Ranveer Singh are also expected to light up the crowd at Ahmedabad. The BCCI had to increase an additional 14,000 seats to accommodate the overflowing crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Interestingly, Shankar Mahadevan was also part of the trio that composed the official song for the 2011 ODI World Cup, “De Ghumake”. While Arijit Singh also performed at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Indian Premier League. Moreover, Sukhwinder Singh is also expected to make the crowd crazy with his hits from the 1990s and 2000s.
