The oldest rivals in the cricketing world will be seen locking horns in the 25th match of the ICC T20 World Cup, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Australia is placed on the fifth position in the points table, winning one and losing one. They have two points, but their net run rate is on the negative side due to a big loss against New Zealand in their tournament opener. The Aussies went on to win their next game against Sri Lanka and also improved on the net run rate.
The Aussie skipper has struggled throughout the tournament but the team has massive game-changers like Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis who have stood up at various times. There is a concern about Matthew Wade, who tested positive for COVID-19. On the other side, Adam Zampa, who missed out on the previous match due to COVID-19, may feature in this one.
England on the other hand, started the tournament with victory against Afghanistan, the memories of losing to Ireland in World Cups haunted England again, as rain helped Ireland win the match by a margin of 5 runs by the DLS method. Jos Buttler and his batting partner Alex Hales haven’t turned up for England so far in this tournament. Mark Wood and Sam Curran have been the stars with the ball. England will need some of their senior players to stand up and lead from the front.
Star Sports Network will LIVE TELECAST the match while Disney+ HotStar will LIVE STREAM the game. The game will start at 1:30 PM IST on the 28th of October, 2022.
