The WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will be returning to the boxing ring in December to defend his title against his former two-time opponent Derek Chisora. While the fight was recently announced, Chisora wasn’t Fury’s first choice of opponent.

In fact, he had retired from the sport of boxing earlier this year following a win over Dillian Whyte. However, he was quick to scrap that and announced that he wants to fight Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship. In pursuit of the same, Fury tried to book a fight against Anthony Joshua.

However, the negotiations for the fight fell apart which forced Tyson Fury to look for alternatives. His search landed him upon Derek Chisora. Thankfully for ‘The Gypsy King’ and his fans, the fight was signed. The fight was recently made official as well and it was announced that Fury will take on Chisora in atrilogy bout on December 3rd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, United Kingtom.

Is there excitement surrounding Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora III?

As mentioned earlier, Fury and Derek Chisora have fought each other twice before. Their first matchup came in 2011 when the two fought for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles. In the bout, ‘The Gypsy King’ proved to be the dominant force and walked away with a unanimous decision victory.

The two met again three years later. This time around the story wasn’t that different. Tyson Fury proved to be dominant yet again, however, unlike last time the fight didn’t hear the final bell. And Fury was able to stop the fight before the final bell with an emphatic knockout Derek Chisora in the 10th round

It is safe to say that Tyson Fury won the previous two fights against Derek Chisora quite comfortably. Because of the same, there isn’t much excitement surrounding the fight as Chisora isn’t expected to give Fury a run for his money. However, regardless of the opposition, fans can certainly expected to be entertained in the returning fight of ‘The Gypsy King’.
