Pugilist Rohit Tokas will be determined to make every opportunity count in his first Commonwealth Games appearance. Rohit’s sporting career has been full of injuries. He was unable to compete in the World Championships and Tokyo Olympics on account of ligament injuries. During that period, he was at the peak of his career having defeated leading boxers. However, the boxer got slowly but steadily recovered and was again back in the ring. Due to the prolonged injuries, he had to change his weight category multiple times.

Rohit came back strongly and punched gold at the All India Inter Railways Championships in 2022. The boxer then qualified for the quadrennial event after emerging victorious in the trials. Rohit stormed into the quarter-finals with a clinical performance against Ghana’s Alfred Kotey. He will next face Xavier Mata’afa-Ikinofo of Niue in the Quarters.
