India is gearing up to host the IBA Women’s World Championships for the third time in history and excitement is building for the event. The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) recently unveiled the title sponsor for the tournament, Mahindra Automotive. The organization also announced legendary boxer MC Mary Kom and Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar as brand ambassadors. The Women’s Boxing Championships is scheduled to take place from March 15 to 26 at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi.

The BFI showed their delight at the sponsorship deal with Mahindra Automotive and the involvement of Mary Kom and Farhan Akhtar. The Women’s Boxing Championships will showcase several top-notch female boxers from around the world. A total of 350 boxers from 74 countries have registered to participate. Eight Olympic medalists will be among the competitors fighting for the title. The tournament will offer a massive prize pool of ₹20 crores. The prize pool of ₹20 crores is also a significant incentive for the boxers, with ₹10 crores being the pool for gold medalists. Boxers who end up as the runners-up in their Women’s Boxing Championships and those who win the bronze medals will receive their prizes from pools of ₹5 crores respectively.
