Boxer Jaismine Lamboria made her way into the semi-finals of the Women’s lightweight category at the Commonwealth Games 2022. She defeated Troy Garton of New Zealand in a split decision of 4-1. Although Jaismine was playing her first bout, she took great advantage of her height and landed heavy punches. Her positive intent throughout the game resulted in her victory. She confirmed a medal for India after winning in the quarters. She will play against 2018 Youth World champion Gemma Richardson in the semi-final on August 6.

The pugilist caught everyone’s attention when she secured a one-sided victory (6-1) against Parveen Hooda in trials. After winning the trials, Jaismine booked a ticket to Birmingham. Born in the Bhiwani district known for Boxing, she became passionate about the sport when she was 14. Jaismine’s biggest strength has been her uncles who were into Boxing.
