The fourth-place team in each of the four groups for the Americas region will be eliminated at the end of the third window, and the qualifying process will then go on to the second round, where the top three teams in each group will be divided into two new groups. Should Canada go through the first round, it would join the top two finishers from Group C and the top three finishers from Group A, which includes Argentina, Panama, Paraguay, and Venezuela.
