The match is between Venezuela vs Ecuador. In the third round of the South American Women’s Basketball Championship group stage, the rivals will face off. The outcome of the following match will determine who advances to the playoffs. There are four matches in head-to-head contests. In each one, Venezuela outperformed the others. Furthermore, she started to win with a big scores in recent years. For instance, the team enjoyed a 25-point edge in 2018.

In the group stage of the 2018 World Cup, Venezuela only managed to defeat Chile. It was rated higher than Paraguay at the same time, but fell short in a direct comparison. The result was that the squad defeated Peru and Ecuador to take fifth place, missing out on the playoffs. Venezuela participated in the Copa America last year, but it only advanced to the quarterfinals, where it was unable to face Brazil.

At the last South American Championship, Ecuador was one of the underdogs. They  only defeated Peru in the group stage, therefore there were no longer in contention for the top four. The squad then shockingly overcame Chile but, as was predicted, was unable to take on Venezuela. As a result, Ecuador finished in a respectable sixth position.
