Greece got off to a good start and took a lead of 23-17 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was more of the same as the Greeks did not let Italy back into the game. The third quarter was a blow out as Greece took a lead of 71-57. Greece then went a bit soft and that allowed the Italians to make a comeback but it was not enough as the match ended 85-81 in favour of Greece. Simone Fontecchio scored 26 points for Italy.
