Switzerland vs Serbia FIBA U-20 European Championship match will be held on July 19. Early in the morning on Monday, the U20 Spanish National team — which includes University of Pittsburgh freshman forward Guillermo Diaz-Graham — took down Ukraine in a lopsided affair, advancing to 3-0 for this event. In the win on Monday, Diaz-Graham put up ten points— his tournament-high— while also blocking three shots and adding three steals. Over the weekend, his team took down the likes of the Czech Republic and Lithuania, quickly putting themselves in a prime position to be a top contender to take home the gold this season.
Diaz-Graham has only played a total of 48 minutes so far during these first few games while averaging 7.3 points per game. He is still proving himself, however, posting those solid numbers despite playing limited minutes and being surrounded with players he’s not really familiar with since he has been at Pitt playing against ACC competition all year long as opposed to preparing for something like this with an international squad.

Maverick Diaz-Graham has made 57 percent of his shots and 33 percent of his three-point shots. His team will now move on to the next round to be played on 21 July. They have a record of 3-0 so far in the tournament and will play more games throughout the week until they win. The next game is scheduled for 21 July with FIBA taking care of all streaming options on Youtube.
