In an explosive month of the NBA in April, Stephen Curry continues to shatter records. After surpassing Kobe Bryant’s record streak of 10 consecutive games with 30 or more points at age 32 or older, Curry rewrote the history books on Sunday for another record.

The two-time NBA MVP added to his epic three-point shooting month on Sunday with seven triples in Golden State Warriors’ 117-113 win over the Sacramento Kings. During this record-breaking month, Curry is currently averaging 38.2 points, with 52.9 percent shooting from the floor and 47 percent from long distance. Curry has made 10 or more three-pointers in four different contests during April.

BREAKING RECORDS

Along with his impressive scoring numbers, the 33-year-old guard has pushed the Warriors to seven victories in 12 games. Curry has eclipsed the previous record held by Brooklyn Nets guard James Harden, who made 82 three-pointers back in November of 2019 with the Houston Rockets. Curry recently passed Wilt Chamberlain by becoming the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer on April 12.

“When you’re in this type of rhythm, nothing,” Curry told ESPN. “It’s the best way to explain it. It’s just trying to get a decent look, get your feet underneath you, and then the rest is muscle memory, confidence and just creativity. So just trying to be in the moment as much as possible. When you’re missing, that’s when you start thinking about mechanics, you start thinking about other stuff. Those thoughts creep in your head. But when you’re in a flow, in rhythm, there is not much going on upstairs. It’s nice.”

It’s unlikely the Warriors are going to jump multiple teams to get that high in the standings at this point. With this win over the Kings, they are ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans with 11 games to play.

Curry’s scintillating form has catapulted the Warriors into the playoff picture, winning seven of their last nine. They’re a few games out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
