The Netherlands started off well in the first quarter and took a lead of 24-17. Spain hit back in the second quarter and took control of the scoreboard at 40-32 in their favour. They never looked back after that as the Spaniards took the third quarter 68-50 and won the game 86-64 in comfortable fashion.
On the other hand, Bulgaria comes into this game on the back of an 84-72 win over Romania in their last outing. Bulgaria took the first quarter 29-19 and started off the game well. Romania hit back in the second quarter and outscored the Bulgarians 15-12 for the quarter. Bulgaria were not going to give the game away easily as they outscored their opponents 23-20 in the third quarter. Then in the fourth quarter, Romania put up a strong fight but could only muster 18 points to Bulgaria’s 20. The game ended 84-72 in Bulgaria’s favour.
