Slovenia vs Ukraine: 2022 International Friendly Games match will be held on August 13. A friendly game between Greece and Spain was played Tuesday night at the indoor Athens Olympic Stadium in front of 16,000 fans. NBA sensation Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 31 points to lead Greece to an 86-70 victory. With the Greek team, the Milwaukee Bucks power forward had his best-ever scoring performance, nailing 7 of 10 free throws, 9 of 10 two-pointers, and 2 of 3 three-point attempts. Giannis is an exception. He arrived well-prepared, hungry, and determined. I hope he stays healthy. “This man is a live example when he plays defense on a 4/4 and dives down,” remarked Greece coach Dimitris Itoudis. In the 20 minutes he played, Antetokounmpo also had 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.
His previous high score with the Greek squad was 26 points, and this was his 50th appearance. Guard Tyler Dorsey of the Dallas Mavericks reached double figures for Greece with 11 points. The two Antetokounmpo brothers participated in the game as well, with Kostas scoring seven points and Thanasis adding three for the Bucks. Kostas is now a free agent after previously playing for French club Asvel. The organization this week released the other Antetokounmpo sibling, Alex, who will play for Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League, a team affiliated with the Milwaukee Bucks. Willy Hernangomez of the New Orleans Pelicans led all scorers for Spain with 15 points. The team will prepare for 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Belgium later this month after playing Spain again on Thursday in Madrid. Greece will start competition in Eurobasket Group C on September 1 together with Estonia, Ukraine, Britain, Italy, and Croatia.
