Philadelphia 76ers player Danny Green won hearts thanks to an incredible gesture towards a 94-year-old woman who listed the player as her favorite in the team. Twitter user Lili Gu had tweeted photographs of her grandmother writing down the names of her favorite players from each NBA side. The tweet had since gone viral, catching the attention of the three-time champion.

Reacting to it, Green gifted her a jersey with the message, “Thank you for picking me. Here is to 95.” Gu then tweeted a video of her grandmother receiving the jersey. The woman further spoke about Green’s three-pointer against the Lakers and congratulated him for it. Green had also retweeted the video to show his love and appreciation for the 94-year-old.

DANNY GREEN’S SEASON WITH 76ERS

Green is hoping to win a fourth title and potentially be the first to achieve a three-peat with three different teams. The 76ers failed to win against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, resulting in their second straight loss after four consecutive victories. The final score against the Nuggets was 104-95.

Green is shooting 40.6% from deep on his first season with the Sixers and has been a crucial reason for the team’s strong position in the table. The team will look to his experience and ability to knock down those open looks. The 76ers will face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday at the Ball Arena.

The 76ers sit second in the NBA table behind the Brooklyn Nets. Notably, the 94-year-old grandmother had also chosen Kevin Durant and James Harden as her favourite Nets players.
