The New York Liberty will head to the College Park Center for a WNBA matchup against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday, August 10th. The Liberty are coming into the matchup on the back of a two-game losing streak.
Their latest loss was against the Dallas Wings itself, where they were beaten by an 86-77 scoreline. Sabrina Ionescu was the only player that stood out as she scored 32 points and contributed with 7 rebounds on the night. Other than her stellar effort, Marine Johannes was the only player that scored in double figures. She racked 19 points off the bench for Liberty. However, none of that was enough to stop the Wings, who looked in control right from the very start. The team from New York did have their moments, but in the end, they did not have enough to bag a win in this game.
For the Wings, it was Marina Mabrey that had a big night as she scored 31 points for the team. She got strong support from the likes of Allisha Gray and Teaira McCowan, who added 18 and 16 points respectively. With this win, the Wings climbed to the sixth position in the standings. They have won five straight games going into their next encounter against New York Liberty. If they are able to put up a brilliant display, they could grab a win. However, the Liberty will try and put up a tough fight as their playoff spot is in jeopardy if they suffer yet another setback.
The New York Liberty have reported their star forward Natasha Howard, to be questionable for the game on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Wings will be without Satou Sabally and Arike Ogunbowale for the game against Liberty.
