The Milwaukee Bucks force game 7 after defeating the Brooklyn Nets 104-89 to keep their championship hopes alive. Kevin Durant put up big numbers again as he finished with 32 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Nets. His standout effort wasn’t enough though as Milwaukee’s big three of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday combined for 89 points, 35 rebounds and 13 assists to avoid elimination on their home floor.

KHRIS MIDDLETON SAVES THE BUCKS

Khris Middleton was fantastic overall, finishing with 38 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals while shooting 11 for 16 from the field. He set a new playoff career-high in the process.

The Bucks were up by 13 in the second quarter. The Bucks being the Bucks, that positive momentum didn’t last forever. James Harden hit few free throws, and their lead was cut down to just five points. The Nets looked like they would close out the lead in the 3rd quarter but they kept missing buckets which made it difficult for them. As we’ve seen before, the doubts started to creep in, though not for too long because Middleton was back to save the day.

Brooklyn periodically made pushes to get back into the game. Middleton and the Milwaukee Bucks refused to fold under pressure and didn’t allow Kevin Durant to produce one more remarkable comeback that could have ended their playoff series.

NETS NEED JAMES HARDEN FULLY FIT

Kevin Durant had 32 points and 11 rebounds. James Harden added 16 points for Brooklyn but still looked as though he was at far from full strength in his second game since returning from a hamstring injury. Harden played 39 minutes in the game which will be a big positive for the Nets who will be hoping for a big game from the former MVP in the all-important Game 7.

James Harden was better in Game 6 than he was in Game 5. He scored 16 points compared to five in Game 5. Harden had left Game 1 in the opening minute with a hamstring issue, only to return in Game 5.

Now with the win, the Bucks and Nets will now face off in a winner take all Game 7 matchup at Barclays Center on Saturday.
