The Las Vegas Aces will head to the College Park Center to face off against the Dallas Wings on Thursday, August 4th. The Aces are coming into the encounter on the back of a disappointing loss to the Washington Mystics.
A’ja Wilson scored 22 points and bagged 12 rebounds in 33 minutes to lead the way for the team. Chelsea Gary also had an impactful night where he scored 20 points. Kelsey Plum also added 15 points, but none of their efforts proved to be enough to prevent a loss. The Aces had a stellar first half in the game. But from thereon, the Mystics took charge and made it very difficult for the team from Las Vegas to make a comeback into the game. Despite the defeat, the Aces are in the second position in the standings. With a few games left, they will be hoping to make a push above and finish as the leaders on the WNBA table.
Their opponents for Friday are the Dallas Wings, who are confident after their 84-78 win against the Chicago Sky. Marina Mabrey starred for them as she scored 26 points on the night. Teaira McCowan also chipped in with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Kayla Thornton scored 11 points in the game. Both teams looked extremely determined to win the game, but in the end, the winning side was Dallas as they held strong ground to walk out with a victory. The Wings are now placed sixth on the table. If they bag a few more wins, they could book their place in the playoffs.
The Wings have reported Arike Ogunbowale and Satou Sabally to be out of this game due to injuries. Meanwhile, all the players are available for selection for the Aces.
