The Indiana Fever will head to the Michelob ULTRA Arena for a WNBA matchup against the Las Vegas Aces on July 21. Both teams are heading into the encounter on the back of disappointing losses in their previous games.
The Fever was up against the LA Sparks on Wednesday. They tried to stay in contention throughout the game but in the end, the Sparks forced their way to get to an 86-79 win. Tiffany Mitchell scored 22 points in 25 minutes for the team. NaLyssa Smtih and Kelsey Mitchell added 14 and 12 points respectively. However, a 35-point night from Nneka Ogwumike proved to be decisive for the Sparks. Her staggering performance helped the team get to a win and this extended the Fever’s losing streak to ten games. They will be hoping to end their string of disappointments with a strong performance against the Aces.
But things could prove to be very difficult for them, as the team from Las Vegas have been brilliant this season. They are currently sitting second on the WNBA standings and are in contention to win it all this season. The team is going into the game on the back of a loss against the Atlanta dream. A’ja Wilson racked up 22 points and grabbed 10 boards. Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum scored 18 and 17 points respectively. Despite all their efforts, the Aces fell short of victory as the Atlanta Dream were way too determined on the night. This helped them grab a solid 92-76 win and get to the sixth position in the standings.
Lexie Hull is the only player that will be doubtful for the Indiana Fever heading into their game against the Las Vegas Aces. All the other players are available for selection heading into this encounter.
