Germany is in the lead of Group D going into the next round of these FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifications after winning three of their first four games. The last time around, Germany overcame a 15-point deficit to defeat Israel 84-80. Germany actually averaged a 3.7-point victory margin throughout all of its triumphs. They lost by three points against Estonia in their inaugural game (66-69). In the qualifications, Christian Sengfelder has distinguished himself for Germany. Currently, the power forward scores 13.5 points, pulls down 5 rebounds, and assists 0.3 times a game. Estonia has only been able to win once more after overcoming Germany in the first round. On the third day of play, that victory came against Poland at home (75-71).

Current Form

Estonia currently has the poorest defense in Group D, allowing 71.5 points per game. They lost by a slim margin of two points against Poland in their most recent qualifying match (70-68), dropping them to third place overall but a point behind the leader they will play in the last round. Estonia’s leader is Maik-Kalev Kotsar. At this time, the power forward averages 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists each game. At the EURO last summer, Poland and Germany crossed paths. In that contest, Blagult prevailed 3-2, with Claesson scoring the game-winning goal in the 94th minute. Germany had been leading 2-0 when Lewandowski’s two goals tied the score. Although Poland finished last and was eliminated, Sweden was able to rally and score a victory that would place them at the top of the group rankings.

Anticipated Winner

As was previously said, Sweden enjoys playing defensively and will undoubtedly employ the same strategies in this match. The hosts, however, won’t be eager to attack right on; instead, they’ll wait for a mistake or rely on Lewandowski’s brilliance up front. For this reason, we predict under 2.5 goals in this contest.
