Barangay Ginebra will take on San Miguel Bay Area Dragons in the PBA match on December 25. Barangay Ginebra San Miguel finished the Magnolia Hotshots, 99-84, in Game 4 of their best-of-five semi-final series to advance to the 2022 PBA Commissioners Cup Finals on Wednesday. Barangay Ginebra will feature in the Commissioner’s Cup final for the first time since winning the 2017-18 season.
“I’m grateful that we didn’t have to play our fifth game against this team,” said Ginebra coach Tim Cone. “We talked about it and talked about it. Just said no to Game 5. These guys leave nothing behind. They didn’t think beyond this game. One of the great things about this team is that we have really great leadership. “In games 3 and 4 of this series, with two comfortable double-digit wins for Barangay Ginebra, LA Tenorio averaged 19.0 points and 13 shots per game. 20 points he scored in Game 3 was his highest point this season as he took on a new role in the team’s attack while handing the ball distribution to Scottie Thompson.

Tenorio is playing well knowing the coaching staff put their trust in him. “We created a lot of open footage of our offense,” says Tenorio. “Maybe I get all these good hits because I’m open-minded. Not just me, but even other defenders.” Barangay Ginebra played most of the game without center-back Christian Standhardinger, who was sent off just six minutes after a stupid throw at Nick Rakosevic.
