The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks will welcome the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles to Kita-Kyushu Shimin Kyujo for another round of NPB action. The Hawks have an overall season record of 44-37 and come into this game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Lotte in their last game. The Hawks’ offence was very poor in this game as only Tatsuru Yanagimachi scored the only run in the form of an RBI. Nao Higashihama got two strikeouts and allowed seven hits as SoftBank lost a close game.
On the other hand, Rakuten has an overall season record of 42-40 and comes into this game on the back of an 8-3 win over Orix. Ryosuke Tatsumi drove in three RBI’s as Rakuten ran out comfortable winners. As for the pitchers, Yuki Matsui had three strikeouts while Naoto Nishiguchi and Shoma Fujihira had two strikeouts each. Rakuten sits in third place on the Pacific League table.
