Anna Hall

Anna Hall is a heptathlete who represents the United States. She won the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2022, which allowed her to compete at her home country's World Athletics Championships and claim the bronze medal. Hall holds the North American indoor pentathlon record. She has won two championships for the University of Florida in 2022. She is a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion, a seven-time NCAA Division 1 All-American, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Pentathlon champion in 2021, and an eight-time SEC finalist.

Professional Career

Since her senior year of high school, Anna Hall has competed professionally. At the 2019 Pan American U-20 Championships, she scored 5,847 points, breaking the previous record for the heptathlon for high school students. Anna also took first place in the heptathlon at the 2019 National U-20 Championships and established a new national high school record in the pentathlon at the 2019 USTAF Indoor Championships. She has been a standout athlete since she was a child. She was recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual in 2020.

She finished second in the pentathlon at the SEC Championships and was a member of the second-fastest 4X400m relay team in UGA history, which captured the Bob Pollock meet. She qualified for the 2022 World Athletics Championships by winning the open USATF championship and the 2022 NCAA pentathlon and heptathlon titles for the Gators. In July 2022, she scored 6,458 points to win the USA Track & Field title. It was the second-highest score in NCAA history and the highest in the globe that year.

For the first time in more than 20 years, Hall brought home a bronze medal in the heptathlon at the World Athletics Championship. The last time USA won a medal was in 2001 when Shelia Burrell received a bronze medal. At the U.S. Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on February 16, 2023, she shattered the North American pentathlon record with a mark of 5004 points. Hall surpassed Nataliya Dobrynska’s 2012 world record of 5013 points to move up to second place overall, becoming only the third athlete in history to earn 5000 or more points.

Coach

Michael Dwayne Holloway is a college track and field coach from the United States. Holloway is the present head coach of the University of Florida’s track and field and cross-country departments. His most notable accomplishment was guiding the Florida Gators men’s indoor track and field team to three straight Division I NCAA titles in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, and 2019.

Personal Life

Anna Hall is the daughter of David and Ronette Hall. Anna Hall was born on March 23, 2001. His parents are of Swedish descent. David Hall, who plays baseball and football, is the father of Anna.  She has three sisters, Kathryn and Julia are two of them. Julia ran track while her sister Kathryn played tennis, both representing Michigan.
