Austin Sopp, mostly known by his ring name Austin Gunn is an American professional Wrestler and reality TV personality who currently works for All-Elite Wrestling. He currently is part of a tag team duo with his brother Colten Gunn. Both of them comprise the group known as The Gunns.

Background and early career

Austin Sopp also known as Austin Gunn was born on August 26, 1994, in Orlando, Florida. He was born to superstar WWE wrestlers Billy Gunn and Tina Tinnell Sopp. He attended Lake Brantley High School and graduated from Rollins College with a degree in elementary education.

Austin Sopp was destined to be a wrestler, mostly due to his father Billy Gunn being a celebrity in the wrestling world. In 2019, Austin signed a contract with Ring of Honor (ROH). And made his debut on August 26 of that year in a dark match as part of the ROH Top Prospect Tournament where he defeated Brian Johnson in the quarterfinals and Dante Caballero in the semifinals. Gunn eventually lost to Dak Draper in the finals of the Top Prospect Tournament.

Austin Gunn even appeared in the E! reality TV series called Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules along with his now ex-girlfriend Hana Giraldo.

AEW Career

Austin Gunn officially signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling in 2020. And made his debut on January 14, 2020, when he teamed up with his father Billy Gunn as part of The Gunn Club and defeated the team of Shawn Spears and Peter Avalon. All while getting a torn PCL during the match. On November 4 of the same year Gunn, made his AEW Dynamite debut, this time teaming up with Cody Rhodes and his father Billy Gunn, and defeated the Dark Order members along with Jhonny Silver. On November 17, 2020, Austin, his brother Colten and their father Billy would team up and win against BSHP King, Joey O’Riley, and Sean Maluta in a six-man tag team match.

Later that year, the tag team trio would go on to defeat Cezar Bononi, KTB, and Seth Gargis in another six-man tag team match. On December 8, 2020, the Gunn Club would defeat Shawn Dean, Sean Maluta along with RYZIN. On February 9, 2022, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn would lose against the AEW Tag Champions Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. On April 15, 2022, the Gunn Club Trio would lose a six-man tag team match against Blackpool Combat Club. On February 8, 2023, The Gunns would win their first AEW World Tag Team Championship.

Outside of the AEW, Ring of Honor Wrestler Danhausen started a Twitter feud with the Gunn Club and referred to Austin and Colten as “Ass Boys”, this was done in reference to Billy Gun’s gimmicks in his young wrestling days. Austin and Colten despised the nickname but Billy Gunn convinced them to embrace it after he wore a shirt with “Ass Boys” printed on it.
