After a successful campaign in the men’s team event, Indian paddler Sathiyan Gnanasekaran will be looking to bag a men’s singles medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The Indian will face Northern Ireland’s Paul McCreery in the round of 32 of the competition on August 5. Gnanasekaran has never won a singles medal in table tennis at the Commonwealth Games, but he has won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in teams and doubles events. The Chennai born athlete will be hoping that he can earn one singles medal this year as he seems to be in exceptional form.
