Genji comes from a long line of ninjas; he is the son of master ninja Sojiro Shimada, as well as the brother of Hanzo, another Overwatch character. Genji initially had little interest in the ninja lifestyle that his predecessors attempted to instil in him; instead, he gravitated toward the jolly teenager life that he desired.
