Future Kid Takara, an original anime film, is announced by Studio 4°C

The production of an original anime movie by Studio 4°C, which is currently going by the working title Future Kid Takara, was announced on Tuesday. The movie is a part of the previously mentioned JETRO (the Japan External Trade Organization) and collaboration to launch Kickstarter campaigns to generate new anime projects with five anime companies, including Studio 4°C. The goal of the Kickstarter campaign is to raise money from the public for a pilot video and to create a fan base that will support the endeavor. Although investment in the movie is reportedly steadily rising, Studio 4°C claimed that it intends to use the pilot video to win over more financiers. Here is where you can access the Kickstarter campaign. Future Kid Takara, an original anime film, is announced by Studio 4°C.

The movie is being made at Studio 4°C under the direction of Yuta Sano (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc – Memorial Edition, RedAsh -GEARWORLD-). Tekkonkinkreet, Dorohedoro and Blood Blockade Battlefront’s art director Shinji Kimura is in charge of worldview design in addition to creating the original characters. Seita Emori, an environmental scientist, is the science adviser, and author and climate documentarian Kyoko Gendatsu is the project adviser. The sci-fi supervisor is writer Yya Takashima (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). The producer of the animation is Shun Hasegawa, and the producer is Eiko Tanaka.

Studio 4°C is making efforts to limit its carbon emissions during the film’s development because the movie will deal with the issue of global warming. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Sixth Assessment Report, cited by the studio, states that making rapid, significant adjustments will be necessary if the world is to avert a temperature of 1.5°C.

The year 2025, which Studio 4°C thinks to be significant because it is the “final chance to protect our Earth,” is when the movie is scheduled to be released. In a statement, Studio 4°C said that rather than using a textbook method, it wants to use the approach of an animated film to help people grasp the problem. The family-friendly adventure movie has a little kid named Takara as its main character and is set in a dystopian future. Sera, a young woman from the present, goes through time to the year 2100 with Takara, and the two of them must survive the dystopian future in which global warming has wrecked havoc on the environment.
