Epic Games is pushing Fortnite updates swiftly during Fortnitemares, and now the Fortnite 18.30 update has gone live. This is the third and final week of Fortnitemares, which also brought both the 18.20 and 18.21 updates.
These updates have introduced major changes to battle royale like bringing donation boards, more Return Requests, and the new Cube Town POI. The latest update brings new weapons, a new Mountain Base POI, and the secret Battle Pass skin. Here are the full patch notes for the latest update.
The 18.30 update brings along two new weapons – the Icy Grappler and Combat Pistol. The Icy Grappler works as a normal grappler but turns the character’s feet icy, offering superior mobility. Players can purchase it from Fabio Sparklemane for 400 Bars.
The Combat Pistol, on the other hand, comes in every rarity from 23 damage to 28 damage. The in-game description of the combat pistol reads that it “benefits greatly from aiming down sights.”

With the 18.30 update, players will be introduced to a new POI to the game – the Mountain base. Since the game moved to the Chapter 2 island, players were curious to know what’s behind the huge door next to Catty Corner. Well, these doors are now open with the latest update, but Epic warns players to prepare “to fend against Doctor Slone and her guards.”
The Secret Battle Pass Skin is the Cube Queen. The players will be allowed to unlock her outfit and the Long Live the Queen Set.
The 18.30 Fortnite update fixes major bugs in the game. It fixes an issue with the Sideways Scythe’s “Smash Attack” ability that resulted in fall damage if players used it from a high point. Another issue the update fixed was the red dot indicator that wasn’t appearing on the compass when enemies were firing.
