ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the holding company behind tournament organizers ESL Gaming and FACEIT, has partnered with FIBA, the international basketball federation. In addition, a total of 30 national federations will be divided into six conferences and compete for the title of conference champions throughout the season. FIBA ESL becomes the latest addition to FACEIT Group’s long roster of partners, which also includes Ticketmaster, Spotify and Vietnamese cable TV channel VTVcab, among others.

This is not the first time that a FIBA eSports event has been held, as several FIBA eSports open tournaments in 2020 and 2021 brought together athletes to compete. Compared to FIFA, its basketball counterpart has a long way to go in terms of viewership and popularity, although it is a notable growth. FIBA esports also has an ongoing partnership with the streaming platform Courtside 1891, which is exclusively about basketball.A total of 30 national federations are divided into six conferences and they will compete for the title of Conference Champions in a very intensive opening season.

Many of the FIBA eSports Open 2021 champion nations are participating in the inaugural season of eFIBA and will need to bring their A-game. The 30 participating nations will bring together the best NBA 2K23 players in the world, and Season 1 will undoubtedly bring forth emotions of despair, joy, and everything in between. eFIBA Season 1 will be all about national pride as the very best players from each of the 30 participating nations battle it out on the court to capture glory for their country.
