WWE SmackDown results: RK-Bro accept Usos challenge, Ricochet retains his IC title against Jinder (April 15)

Roman Reigns demanded that the Usos win the RAW tag team titles to achieve greatness, so this week Orton and Riddle brought the fight to their new rival on SmackDown.

Going into this week’s SmackDown, everything that people spoke about was the unification of the tag team titles. The Uso went to RAW last week and laid down a challenge for Randy Orton and Riddle.

Roman Reigns demanded that the Usos win the RAW tag team titles to achieve greatness, so this week Orton and Riddle brought the fight to their new rival on Friday night.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Ricochet defended his Intercontinental championship and Drew McIntyre continued to hunt down Sami Zayn.

RK-Bro accepts The Usos challenge

Randy Orton and Riddle kicked off SmackDown by reflecting on what happened on Monday. The Usos then came out and spoke about how RK-Bro had entered Bloodline territory. Orton then hit back and reminded The Usos who they really were. He then went on and accepted the challenge to unify the titles. The Usos departed the ring afterwards, but snuck in and attacked Riddle before fleeing. 

RK-Bro spoke with authority figure Adam Pearce backstage and Pearce informed Orton and Riddle that management was still undecided over whether they should go ahead with the tag team title unification match.

Rhea Ripley def Naomi

Rhea Ripley (w/ Liv Morgan) defeated Naomi (w/ Sasha Banks) after landing her Riptide finisher. The two tag teams traded barbs backstage prior to the match.

Happy Corbin split from Madcap Moss, claiming that Moss was holding his back.

Madcap Moss def Humberto Carrillo

Madcap Moss defeated Humbert Carrillo (w/ Angel Garza) after planting Carrillo with the Punchline. Before the match, Moss spoke with Drew Gulak and said that he had moved on from Happy Corbin.

Charlotte Flair denied tapping to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 38. An irate Flair verbally tore down interviewer Drew Gulak before attacking him and locking him in the Figure Eight Leg Lock.

A pre-taped video showed Gunther’s violence with help from Ludwig Kaiser.

Drew McIntyre def Sami Zayn

Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn via count-out after Zayn fled into the crowd. McIntyre subsequently gave chase. Zayn ran into Pearce afterwards, who informed Zayn would face McIntyre next week in a lumberjack match.

Ricochet def Jinder Mahal

Intercontinental Championship match: Ricochet (c) defeated Jinder Mahal (w/ Shanky) after landing a Shooting Star Press. Ricochet promised to win the match during his pre-match interview and he delivered on that promise.

Butch was unhappy with Sheamus and Ridge Holland during a backstage interview. Butch then attacked New Day causing a massive brawl between the two factions.

Lacey Evans opened up about her abusive father and his mental health problems in a video that Natalya and Shayna Baszler made fun of.

Riddle def Jimmy Uso

Riddle defeated Jimmy Uso after hitting him with an RKO. The ending came after Jimmy was briefly distracted by Orton dropping Jey onto the announcer’s table. Riddle and Jimmy had a solid match.

After the match, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee confirmed the booking of The Usos vs. RK-Bro in a tag team unification match for the Raw and SmackDown titles.
