Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus (Money in the Bank Ladder Match Qualifier)

Drew McIntyre faced longtime friend-turned-hated-rival Sheamus, who had Butch at ringside with him while Ridge Holland went home to heal from a knee injury suffered a week earlier, in a hard-hitting battle for the opportunity to go to Las Vegas for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The fight became more intense, ending in a non-finish that left fans disappointed but still rooting for the Scottish babyface. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee speculated aloud on the implications of the outcome for Money in the Bank.

Lacey Evans vs. Xia Li (Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match Qualifier)

Lacey Evans competed against Xia Li for a berth in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match for the first time since February 15, 2021. Li looked to have Evans’ phone number, as if she wanted to make sure her return to the squared circle ended in a humiliating defeat. Instead, Li was shaken by the Lady’s Right from out of nowhere by the woman previously known as the Sassy Southern Belle.

Winner: Lacey Evans

Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi

Shotzi interrupted Ronda Rousey’s promo on SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and challenged her to a fight. Rousey, who is no stranger to throwing punches, agreed. Shotzi then put on his greatest performance ever. Rousey was pushed to her limit by WWE’s resident queen of the macabre, who outwrestled her for a significant stretch of the bout and targeted her left shoulder in the process. Shotzi had her opponent stuck in a submission at one point, daring the champion to battle her way back into the contest. Rousey did just that before hitting Shotzi with a cross armbreaker. The joy was short-lived, however, as Natalya appeared out of nowhere and hit Rousey with the Sharpshooter.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Ricochet (c) vs. Gunther (Intercontinental Championship)

The Ring General capped an excellent run of domination with a win against Ricochet on Friday night, in a battle that was as bit as good as one could expect given the talent involved. Gunther cut The One and Only off every time he summoned the tenacity that has characterised him and managed to fight from underneath. Despite a brave effort that saw him block an attempt at outside interference by Ludwig Kaiser, Ricochet was defeated by Gunther’s shotgun dropkick and powerbomb combo, which has claimed the lives of so many other Superstars.

Winner: Gunther

Matt Riddle vs. Sami Zayn

Zayn and Riddle entered the ring for the main event of Friday night’s programme against this backdrop, with Paul Heyman, special counsel for The Tribal Chief, joining the commentary team.  Zayn dominated for much of the encounter, giving the idea that he might be able to keep his promise to rid the blue brand of Riddle. However, his own arrogance cost him dearly, as attempts to mimic Randy Orton enraged Riddle and encouraged his return. Down the long, the back-and-forth action led up to Riddle catching Zayn with the RKO for the victory. Following the bell, the Usos attacked, but Riddle countered with a kendo stick assault that sent the unified tag titles tumbling to bring the event to a conclusion.
