WWE RAW results: Cody Rhodes defeats The Miz in his first match on RAW, The Usos lay down challenge (April 11)

The Usos came to RAW with the intention of unifying the tag team titles, Veer Mahan made his in-ring debut and Tommaso Ciampa made his RAW debut.

Monday Night RAW was in Detroit and a lot of new angles and storylines are emerging as we move past WrestleMania and head towards Backlash.

The major story was Cody Rhodes having his first match on RAW after six long years. He fought The Miz and picked up the win and was then promptly challenged by Seth Rollins for a rematch over their WrestleMania 38 match.

The Usos came to RAW with the intention of unifying the tag team titles, Veer Mahan made his in-ring debut and Tommaso Ciampa made his RAW debut.

The Miz opened the show and had Cody Rhodes on Miz TV. Miz had some choice words for Cody and said that while he was away for the last six years, RAW has now become The Miz’s show. Rhodes responded that he actually respects Miz, but that he could see that Miz was afraid of him. After the interview ended, Miz attempted to blindside Rhodes but was caught and thrown from the ring.

Veer Mahan beat Dominik Mysterio

Veer Mahan def. Dominik Mysterio via submission with the cervical clutch. Mahan then decided to once again lock Mysterio in the hold again and had to be pulled apart by the WWE officials. He then pushed the officials away to lock in the hold for the third time. Mysterio was then taken from the arena in an ambulance.

AJ Styles vs Damian Priest (no contest)

AJ Styles vs. Damian Priest ended in a no contest. The match ended when Priest had kicked Styles off the ring apron and kneeled in the center of the ring where the lights went out aside from a beam of blue light shining on him.

Cody Rhodes beat The Miz

Cody Rhodes def. The Miz after hitting Cross Rhodes. Seth Rollins made his way to the commentary desk to observe the bout. After a fairly lengthy match, Rhodes got the victory by hitting Cross Rhodes to score the pinfall. Rollins then applauded Rhodes for his victory and entered the ring claiming that Rhodes had the advantage in their match at WrestleMania by way of being a “surprise opponent.” Rollins then issued a challenge for a rematch, which Rhodes quickly accepted.

Tommaso Ciampa made his main roster debut. Ezekiel once again came out and introduced himself as the brother of Elias. Ciampa was willing to go with the act, though Kevin Owens showed up to object.

Naomi beat Liv Morgan

Naomi def. Liv Morgan via pinfall with a roll-up. The finish came as the two women traded rapid pin attempts before Naomi caught Morgan for the finish and the pin.

MVP explained why he turned on Bobby Lashley during “The VIP Lounge.” Lashley was in the ring and demanded answers, which brought out MVP and Omos. MVP claimed all credit for Lashley’s success and said Lashley saying he didn’t “need him” at WrestleMania proved it was time for MVP to turn to the future.

Austin Theory announced that he would no longer be known as Austin Theory but just Theory as Vince McMahon decided Austin “did not suit” him.

Biana Belair beat Zelia Vega

Bianca Belair def. Zelina Vega via pinfall with the K.O.D.Sonya Deville revealed herself as Belair’s next opponent. Deville presented Belair with a contract, which Belair signed saying that she would defend her Raw women’s championship against anyone.

RK-Bro beat Alpha Academy

RK-Bro def. Alpha Academy when Randy Orton hit Chad Gable with an RKO.

The Usos beat The Street Profits

The Usos def. The Street Profits when Jimmy Uso pinned Montez Ford after the 1D. The Usos confronted RK-Bro, following up on Roman Reigns’ instructions that they needed to unify their SmackDown tag titles with RK-Bro’s Raw belts. This brought out The Street Profits, who claimed they deserved the title shot. Riddle and Orton then suggested the two teams just go ahead and fight to end the show. The Usos closed the show with a superkick on Orton before posing with both sets of tag titles.
