The latest episode of WWE Raw, eminating from Tulsa, Oklahoma, continued to build up stories for the upcoming Royal Rumble event.

As such, the show saw new wrestlers declare for the match as well as stakes being added to other feuds. The result of this was a show that was both hit and miss.

The main event of the show was a perfect example of this. Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley are both in high-profile matches for the Rumble. So when their match was announced, a disqualification finish seemed inevitable.

And that is exactly what happened. The Usos ran in from the crowd and superkicked Rollins, handing him the DQ win. So a perfectly good match ended in predictably poor fashion.

In theory, it would have made more sense to have both face different competitors to build them up for their matches. This did no one any favours whatsoever.

Lets check out how the rest of the show went.

WWE Raw full results

  • Becky Lynch opened the show and was interrupted by Doudrop, Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan. You know what this means – a tag team match! Doudrop got the win for her and Lynch when she removed Lynch from the match and attacked then pinned Morgan.
  • Kevin Owens hosted The KO Show with Rollins. Their banter was somewhat funny and then US champion Damian Priest came out to face Owens; the latter won with a Stunner.
  • Alpha Academy’s “graduation ceremony” saw Riddle interfere while also dressed in a graduation robe. That was funny. The Academy also challenged RK-Bro to a “mental challenge” next week.
  • Austin Theory beat Finn Balor. No, really. This was followed by Nikki A.S.H. beating up former tag partner Rhea Ripley, putting any hopes of a match away for now. Oh and Omos beat Reggie too.
  • Another segment featuring Edge, Beth Phoenix, Maryse and the Miz ended with Maryse attacking Phoenix with a brick. This built the stakes well enough.
  • The Street Profits and Mysterios defeated the Dirty Dawgs, Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez. The Mysterios threw the Profits over the top rope before Rey did the same to Dominik. Interesting.
  • Alexa Bliss once again had another therapy session segment. It went exactly how you would expect.

Raw’s biggest issue right now is that its a mixed bag. Some segments hit home whereas just as many are misses. And it does nothing to make the Rumble feel special, which it is.
