Charlotte Flair of WWE married her fiancé, Mexican wrestler Andrade El Idolo, in a magnificent and beautiful Mexico ceremony on Friday, proving that “love is one language.” The pair exchanged vows in front of 160 guests at Hacienda Mi Ranchito in Torreón, the groom’s hometown, on Friday evening, according to reports.

Flair said to People, “Before I met him, I did not know anything except my job. When I met him, he opened my eyes to travel and life and love and a different culture. And I was so strict with my job and did not know how to enjoy both life and work at the same time. And he opened me up to that.” The pair, who got engaged in January 2020, showcased their love for one another in the wedding décor, which included a slew of candles and light pastel flower arrangements that Flair characterised as “very gentle, beautiful, and whimsical.”

Flair added, “I didn’t want it to be anything like my character — ‘Charlotte’ is not personable at all and not relatable … but I like when I am just me, Ashley, when I am with him in gym clothes and no makeup. It’s funny because when we were talking to the wedding planner … I just really wanted it to be casual.”

Flair chose an all-lace, jewelled gown by Galia Lahav for the big night, which she calls as “vintage,” “romantic,” and “flirty.” “She says,” she says “The attention to detail is stunning. It’s not even a white starch. It’s a cream and white colour scheme. It has an old-fashioned antique feel to it.” Flair, 36, had eight bridesmaids, including her sister, sister-in-law, Andrade’s sister, and fellow WWE wrestler Nia Jax, who donned champagne-colored gowns made by Revelry. Andrade’s eight uncles served as groomsmen, and Flair’s father, wrestling legend Ric Flair, was the one who walked her down the aisle.

Flair changed into a second outfit as the night progressed: a cocktail dress by Galia Lahav that gave the bride “Gatsby” vibes. Andrade, 32, changed into a white tuxedo dinner jacket as well. Andrade’s culture was not just brought into the wedding through music; Flair also ensured that the cuisine was authentic. Enchiladas and empanadas, among other refreshments, were available from food trucks on site. The newlyweds are currently on their way to Costa Rica for their honeymoon before closing on a new property in Florida this summer.
