The WWE has a lot of brutal structures like the steel cage and the elimination chamber but none of them comes close to the aura and fear that Hell in a Cell strikes. The hellish structure which stands at 20 feet and weighs more than five tons does not hold any prisoners and treats each man the same. Over the years, many people have tried to overcome the structure but the sheer presence of it somehow knocks them off balance and you can’t blame them. Over the years, there have been a lot of iconic moments that happened inside Hell in a Cell and in this article, we will take a look at some of the best.

The Undertaker throws Mankind off the cell

The Undertaker and Mankind took on each other at King of the Ring in 1998 and it went on to become one of the most talked-about matches in WWE history. At the beginning of the match, The Undertaker would throw Mankind off the top of the cell onto the announcer’s table in what would go on to become one of the most iconic moments ever.  The spot was so jaw-dropping that Jim Ross uttered his famous line, “Good God almighty! Good God almighty! They’ve killed him! As God as my witness, he is broken in half!”

Kane makes his debut

At the Badd Blood: In Your House pay-per-view in 1997, Kane made his terrifying debut that scared the daylights out of the fans in the arena and also watching around the world. He made his presence felt during a match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels inside Hell in a Cell. The Big Red Machine would go on to rip the cell door off its hinges with his bare hands and then proceed to go and attack his brother, The Undertaker. Kane rag-dolled Taker in a way that no other superstar ever did before and in the process sent shockwaves throughout the company.

Another Hell in a Cell moment which includes The Undertaker but this time the limelight was stolen by Shane McMahon. Shane McMahon was tasked with facing Taker inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32 and if he won, he would assume control of Monday Night RAW. Shane was always known to be a daredevil and was never afraid to push the limits when it came to risk-taking. In an attempt to finish The Deadman and win the match, Shane risked it all and attempted a flying elbow from the top of the cell which The Undertaker managed to get away from. It surely was a breathtaking moment that left everybody inside the AT&T Stadium gasping.

Brock Lesnar breaks the cell door

Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman were taking on each other for the Universal Championship at the 2018 Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. The match was inside Hell in a Cell and there was interference from the get-go with Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler in the corners of Romans Reigns and Braun Strowman, respectively. Towards the end of the match, Brock Lesnar made his shocking entry and when the referee declined to open the cell door after Paul Heyman told him to, The Beast kicked the door clean and broke the lock in a way that was similar to when Kane made his debut.

It was SummerSlam 2008 and Edge and The Undertaker went head to head in the main event. The rivalry between both the men had reached boiling point and it was decided that they would sort out their differences inside Hell in a Cell. Taker and Edge started off the match and used various weapons to nullify each other. Then, the Rated-R Superstar speared The Undertaker through one of the cell walls causing both men to fall outside near the announcer’s table.
