WWE is always exciting to watch, but 2023 is building up to be one of the most significant years in its history – and WrestleMania 39 might be the turning point. Following Lockdown WWE and the Thunderdome, there was the exit of Vince McMahon, the rise and fall of Triple H, the rise and fall of AEW, and then Mr. McMahon’s surprise comeback, at least behind the desk.

WrestleMania 39, the WWE’s largest yearly event returns to Hollywood this year. A main event fight between WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Royal Rumble victor Cody Rhodes is set to headline a two-day show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2.

Only two years ago, the main event of this year’s WrestleMania would have been labeled as a fantasy dream match. With a record-breaking dual title campaign, Reigns has cemented himself as this generation’s superstar. Rhodes rose to the status of main eventer and was instrumental in the development of AEW, the second-largest North American company since WCW disbanded in 2001. Rhodes’ WWE comeback at WrestleMania 38 was much anticipated. Rhodes won the Royal Rumble in January to clinch his position against Reigns in his comeback from a seven-month injury layoff.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship — The Usos (c) vs Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

Zayn and Owens both have problems with The Bloodline. Jey Uso stayed by Zayn when he fell out with the gang, but a Zayn spear erroneously struck Jey during his encounter with Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. In wrestling, common sense, and actual motives rarely count, and Jey will most likely regard that as a valid attack, securing his status in The Bloodline with his twin brother and cousins. This should result in a bout between a reunited Zayn and Owens and The Usos for the tag championships on the grandest stage of all.

Bobby Lashley vs Bray Wyatt

With a bout against Lesnar out of the question, Lashley was chosen for a feud with Wyatt. Wyatt had stated prior to Elimination Chamber that he would attack the winner of Lesnar vs. Lashley, and when Lashley won by disqualification, the two began exchanging words. Lashley has been hostile against Wyatt, while Wyatt has been his usual eccentric self, swinging between frightening and overly playful. The match appears to be a certainty for WrestleMania, but it has yet to be confirmed.

Dominik Mysterio vs Rey Mysterio

Dominik ultimately issued a formal challenge for a bout at WrestleMania after a protracted build that saw Rey depart Raw for SmackDown to be away from his kid. Dominik insulted Rey because he declined. While Rey vows he will never wrestle his kid, the bout appears to be inevitable.
