If there’s one thing to say about WWE booking in recent years, it’s that it’s been incredibly predictable, with a handful of clever and unexpected surprises thrown in for good measure. We previously discussed how the WWE supposedly wants to show and prove Roman Reigns is the best of all time, and one way to do so is for him to shatter the all-time longest championship reign records.

This means he’ll have to keep the Universal Championship for a bit longer, including for next year’s WrestleMania bout against The Rock.

To do so, the championships will have to be united in order to link the Universal title to the WWE Championship’s history, which is why it looks like a title for title contest will be held at this year’s WrestleMania.

While a championship unification isn’t definite, it’s been claimed that the WWE was initially opposed to the concept, but according to Dave Meltzer, it’s now on the table.

According to Meltzer, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman have also been pushing for this fight, making it more probable that we’ll see a championship contest.

To ratchet up the tension between Reigns and Lesnar, Reigns intervened at the Royal Rumble to assist Bobby Lashley to win the WWE Championship from Lesnar, and Lesnar, as we previously said, went on to win the Royal Rumble.

Lesnar wasted no time in announcing Reigns as his WrestleMania opponent, while simultaneously challenging Lashley for the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber to set up a title vs. title match. And it’s for that reason that we believe Lesnar will win at Elimination Chamber and be ready to face Reigns again at WrestleMania.

It makes sense to build Reigns and Lesnar up as much as possible before their battle, there’s no chance for Lesnar to lose in the Elimination Chamber.

WWE Elimination Chamber

Given the skill involved in the Elimination Chamber match, it seems virtually hard for Lashley to win, and if it works out that most or all of the group is there at the same time, the group might gang up on Lashley or Lesnar.

There are a few factors that may affect the title vs. title scenario, but it’s doubtful given the build-up thus far.

Depending on how things go, we may see a draw between Lashley and Lesnar, in which they pin each other and become co-champions before facing Reigns in a triple threat winner-take-all match.

Because this is the WWE, anything can happen.
