Early in 2014, WWE hired Nia Jax and sent her to NXT, which is situated at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. On May 7, 2015, at an NXT home show, she made her in-ring debut as Zada, teaming up with Devin Taylor to lose a tag team match to Bayley and Carmella.
In a singles match on the October 14 broadcast of NXT, Jax made her debut after a series of introductory vignettes throughout September. She won against Evie. After making her debut, she was portrayed gradually becoming a villain while going on a winning streak in which she defeated several enhancement talents as well as NXT Diva Carmella. Jax’s heel reputation was cemented in November when she teamed up with Eva Marie and began her first feud with Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship. On December 16 at NXT TakeOver: London, Jax qualified for a title match, but she was unable to take home the prize.
On July 19, 2016, as part of the 2016 WWE draft, Jax was selected for the Raw brand and soon after that, he began a winning run against different opponents. Jax and Alicia Fox engaged in their first-ever feud in September, which culminated in a no-contest battle between the two on the September 12 edition of Raw after Jax speared Fox over the ringside barricade. At the Clash of Champions pre-show on September 25, the two faced off again, and Jax triumphed via pinfall over Fox. Jax was eliminated by Becky Lynch by submission on November 20 at Survivor Series while competing as a member of Team Raw in a five-on-five elimination tag team match.
After being deceived and ridiculed by her former closest friend, Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, who body shamed her and made fun of her attitude, Jax turned face in March. This resulted in a title match between the two taking place on April 8, 2018, at WrestleMania 34. She won the contest to win the Raw Women’s Championship for the first time in her career. A month later, on May 6, at Backlash, the two faced off again, and this time Jax prevailed over Bliss to keep her championship.
