Bianca Belair in WWE

On April 12, 2016, Blair entered into a deal with WWE and was given a job in the Orlando, Florida-based WWE Performance Center. On June 25, during an in-ring sequence at an NXT live event, Blair made her debut as Binky Blair. On September 29, she entered the ring for the first time but fell to Aliyah. Blair made her television debut on the May 3 episode of NXT episode, going by the ring name Bianca Belair. She competed in a battle royal to decide the top challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship, however Billie Kay and Peyton Royce eliminated her.

Success on the main roster

The Street Profits were saved by Belair from Zelina Vega, Angel Garza, and Austin Theory on the Raw after WrestleMania 36. This was Belair’s main roster debut, solidifying her place on the Raw roster. She was paired with The Street Profits and turned face in the process. The alliance was quickly abandoned, though. Belair was selected by SmackDown in the 2020 Draft in October. She won a triple threat match on the SmackDown programme airing on October 30 against Billie Kay and Natalya to earn a spot on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. At the November 22 event, Team SmackDown fell to Team Raw and Belair was eliminated through countout.

Winning the Smackdown Women’s title

Belair, the second Black superstar in WWE history to accomplish this accomplishment after The Rock, won the Royal Rumble match on January 31, 2021, by finishing off Rhea Ripley. She entered at number 3 and stayed in the match for over 56 minutes, a record for a woman competing in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. She and SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks failed to defeat Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Elimination Chamber on February 21. Belair formally challenged Banks to a title contest at WrestleMania 37 on the next SmackDown episode. Additionally, they lost the tag team championships at Fastlane on March 21. Belair won the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the opening night of WrestleMania on April 10 by defeating Banks in the title match, giving her career its first championship.
