WWE superstar Kevin Owens is a star in his own right. He came up the WWE ladder the hard way as he first made his name on the independent scene before making his way to NXT. At NXT, Owens became the top star and won the NXT title and had great matches with many talented wrestlers.

His displays in NXT earned him a call up to the main roster and he instantly made a mark as he attacked John Cena in his night on Raw. Kevin later became the Intercontinental Champion after he defeated Ryback at the Night of Champions in 2015.

After Finn Balor vacated the Universal title after suffering a shoulder injury, there was a battle royal for the vacant Universal title. Kevin Owens qualified for the match which involved Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Big Cass. He won the title after receiving assistance from Triple H.

How did Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn celebrate?

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are best friends in real life and in a recent interview, Owens revealed how Sami and him celebrated after he won the Universal title. Speaking on The Happy Hour on FOX Sports, Owens said, “Once that was all done, I got to kind of sit and soak it in,” Owens said. “Then Sami and I met up at the back of the hotel with some Whataburger and just sat there eating our burgers while looking at the title in kind of disbelief.

“I said to him at that time, I told him, ‘This is ours. We both just worked really hard to get to where we were, and a lot of the work we did and the journey we went through we did it together. So, that night was special to both of us I think, and I’m really looking forward to the night he wins, whether it be the Universal Title or whatever title, that he might win, and I get to share that with him as well. I’m sure it’s gonna happen sooner than later. So that was a great night. Great memories,” Owens concluded.
