Shinsuke Nakamura (born February 24, 1980) is a professional wrestler and mixed martial artist from Japan who is presently contracted to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and competes on the SmackDown brand.

Shinsuke, who was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, was bullied as a child. Nakamura unwittingly determined the trajectory of his destiny with his ambition to be able to protect himself and his fondness for wrestling shows on television. He began wrestling with New Japan Pro Wrestling and remained there for 14 years, becoming one of Japan’s most popular wrestlers in the process. Nakamura earned the IWGP’s Heavyweight champion at the age of 23, making him the promotion’s youngest Heavyweight champion ever.

Shinsuke Nakamura has won the WWE United States Championship twice and the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice. In addition, he is a two-time NXT Champion. He is a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, five-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, one-time IWGP Tag Team Champion, and winner of the 2011 G1 Climax, 2006 G1 Tag League, and 2014 New Japan Cup tournaments.
